Public Land Trust
Here’s the math to understand Hawaiʻi’s stolen (seized) lands: “crown lands” (ʻāina lei aliʻi) + “government lands” (ʻāina aupuni) = “ceded lands”, a misnomer that had to be dumped for “Public Land Trust” because ceding lands require a treaty and there wasn’t one. The same occupier state that has seized and renamed the Public Land Trust, which includes Mauna Kea, Pōhakuloa, and University of Hawai‘i campuses, has also excluded kingdom era knowledge from public education; knowledge that would help us understand the origins of these different lands and our relationship to them.
ʻĀina lei aupuni: he lei aloha, mae ʻole i ka wela hainā o ka lā, e pili mau ana no nā kau a kau!
GIVING BACK | KA MĀLAMA KAIĀULU
"This land and its people made us who we are today. Knowing this at the outset, it has been part of our mission from day one to give back to our community.
To us, this means supporting efforts to keep Hawaiʻi healthy from both a cultural and an environmental perspective. We do this by donating to organizations whose missions are centered around cultural practice and preservation, mālama ʻāina (stewardship of the land and its natural resources), and education."
